Alun-alun kidul yogyakarta

In a traditional Javanese architecture known procedures Chess Slot Single term, meaning four elements in a single unit. This can be seen in the palace Ngayogyakarta home to the palace, mosques, squares, and markets. Respectively as the center of power, religious, folk activities, and economics. Yogyakarta has two square, one in front of the palace is called North Square (square lor), another one is behind the so-called South Square (square kidul). The layout of the palace of Yogyakarta itself is in an imaginary line that connects the Mount Merapi, Palace, and Parangtritis.

Backyard of the residence of the King of Jogja is a place full of stories. Two of the most familiar folklore with the square of its existence kidul is constructed so that the back of the palace look like the front so as not turned southern sea guarded by the Queen of the South that supposedly has magical relationship with the King of Mataram. The second story is a myth passed ringin twin with eyes closed. The game is named Masangin, entered two banyan stands.

The rules are very simple, we just need to close my eyes and walk straight about 20 meters from the front Sasono Hinggil towards the middle ringin brackets (two banyan trees in the middle of the square). That's it. But behold, apparently not easy. A lot of people are trying to walk straight but instead turned to various directions, away from the goal. Of course runs without notice would have been much more difficult than when there is an object that is visible. Trust only person to be able to penetrate through the net. In a broader sense, the game is to convey the message that in order to achieve what they want, then we have to try hard and still maintain a healthy heart.

The origins Masangin stems from ritual topo mute Mubeng Beteng (circling the castle) at night 1 Suro, which ended with the passing ringin brackets. It is said that there are tattoo between the two banyan which serves to refuse reinforcements are trying to come Keraton Jogja. Thus, only those who clean the liver and no bad intentions can escape. To try this game, we can rent a blindfold for Rp 5,000. Beyond the myth, this game has now become an icon of the square kidul and bring fortune for traders in the vicinity.

In the square kidul, not only Masangin we can do. The place that was once used to train soldiers of this kingdom, now has been transformed into a public space boisterous visitors. Various backgrounds and ages mixed together. Afternoon about five o'clock, small children come with their parents escorted playing, running around chasing hundreds of soap bubbles are blown penjajanya, or yelling waving call farrago kites in the sky. While on the edge of the square, traders were preparing, a mat waiting for guests to come. Moving the night, the atmosphere changed. Small children have replaced home young people who come to spend the night. More and more crowded night atmosphere. Tandem bicycles and Odong-Odong lighted a favorite of visitors. We can walk around the square with a tandem bicycle hire for Rp 15,000 and Rp 30,000 for Odong Odong-filled lamps that can fit up to 6 people. While exercising night pedals, becomes sensation while we drove to break through the bottleneck streets.

Tired of playing, let rest. Sitting on top of the mat mat while ordering a snack. Various flavors of roasted corn accompanied warm ginger from wedang rounds into ciamik choice. Not enough? Add toast and wedang bajigur to the list of orders. Two typical drink is the perfect Jogja enjoyed in the area of the heart of the Kingdom of Mataram. Kidul square is no longer a lonely heart tranquilizer, but the atmosphere is jovial aura make us feel happy. When we came on Saturday in the second week of each month, at Sasono Hinggil Dwi Abad held a puppet show. But should we prepare ourselves because this show was held all night long. Well, want to try?
